The New Driving
Driving tips for economical driving conforming to "The New Driving"
- Change to a higher gear as soon as possible
Stay in low revs, preferably between 2000 and 2500 RPM.
- Drive at a constant speed
Try to drive at a constant speed in the highest possible gear with the lowest possible RPM.
- Anticipate traffic ahead
Anticipate traffic and keep in mind your fellow road users by looking ahead and keeping a sufficient distance.
- Reduce speed gradually
By anticipating well, you will not need to brake so abruptly. Stopping or reducing speed can be done gradually by coming off the gas in a controlled manner.
- Check your tyre pressures regularly.
An insufficient tyre pressure increases resistance and can therefore lead to a 5% higher fuel consumption.
